"Goose what are you doing this summer??"
“Yea, don’t really know. Kinda want to travel. Maybe Europe?”
“Nice dude, same.”
“Nice. Let’s go?”

“Nice dude, same.”
“Nice. Let’s go?”
Thus was conceived “The Master Plan.” Two months of idiotic
procrastination later and my one-way flight to Madrid was booked for a measly, totally rational
and affordable (…) $1027. Here’s the breakdown:
Who:
Andrew a.k.a. Odysseus
That’s me. As a former Boston College student and Men’s Club Ultimate Frisbee Social Chairman, I will serve as motivational speaker for the month. I will also serve as lead scribe (See www.huskguys.com for my resume. Go ‘Skers.) due to others’ complacency, general blogging incompetence, and one kid being Mexican.
Augusto a.k.a. Goose

Augusto a.k.a. Goose
Despite the fact that he’s 100% Puerto Rican, this is the
Mexican. Probably illegal. Probably why he wants to flee to Europe. Moving on.
We all have those friends that get a 36 on their ACT, go on an academic full
ride to USC, play football at USC, individually design and build some sort of
water system that is saving lives in Honduras, and go on to Duke for Biomedical
Engineering right? Well this is that guy. His 1.5 brains will
make up for my .5, and permit him to serve as master in command of travels.
Kinzer
Another former BC great. This is that really stereotypical guy that frequently and unpredictably transforms into a Southern plantation owner, British gent, Australian weirdo, and even a dog. Yes, I have a sarcastic writing style. There is no stereotype he fits. Therefore, he will serve as my wingman throughout this blog thanks to his incredibly intelligent writing. He will also serve as my wingman every night thanks to his incredibly unintelligent decision making.
Ben
Some Stanford kid. Will ensure our quote bank is filled thanks to relentless deadpanning and oftentimes vulgar personality.
Potential Free Agents TBA (pending flights):
Ryan
Aspiring writer/journalist/actor/tv personality/screen writer from USC that majored in Classics because that’s really helpful. Also an absurdly good writer, also an absurdly irrational decision maker. Perfect.
Becca
The pretty blonde lass who, thanks to an unfortunate tendency to “wander” when intoxicated, amplifies the chances of one of us being kidnapped and/or ending up at the U.S. Embassy any time about tenfold.
What:
An ill-advised, somewhat poorly planned, rampant romp about Europe that would make Napoleon roll over in his short little coffin.

^Actual map we are using. Anyone know any good bars in the Ottoman Empire??
Where: Madrid --> Barcelona --> Southern France? Maybe
Marseille? -->
Northern Italy (not vague at all. Leave that to Goose.) --> Rome --> Prague --> Eurocup in Warsaw --> Berlin --> Frankfurt --> Pamplona? (Running of
the Bulls..) -->
Paris? -->
London -->
Dublin -->
Home.
…or something like that. This blog describes, quite literally, a couple of guys and a map.

** Denotes where Kinzer, Ben, and Becca are scheduled to
join me and Goose. “Meet us in Rome” – sounds feasible to me.
When: June 11th , 2012 – July 20th, 2012
When: June 11th , 2012 – July 20th, 2012
Why: Graduation
felt like a funeral (fittingly, every student was wearing black..) for all of
us. Devastated. We all want/need that spirit to live on, and we all have a
world to experience while we are young and free men. Before I have kids of my
own crying and puking on my shoulder all day. Before Little Jimmy has 19
tee-ball games a weekend in obscure locations in South Dakota. Before med
school, journalism school, or professional ditch digging. Now is the time,
while young and free…and by free I mean living off my parents’ money (Thanks
mom and dad!).
Predictions:
-
over/under 1.5 kidnappings: Under. By .5.
-
Goose will get a 24-hour marriage in Spain and
leave me to fend for myself for a week
-
Kinzer will get lost for an unusually long
period of time
-
Ben will become a local hero in a small random
German village. Will bring a ladyfriend back home.
-
Ryan will not make it out of free agency, Becca
will
-
Hypothetical Ryan at end of trip: “Guys, I
really like it here…I mean like, really like it here. Just go on without me.
Just go…”
As I sit here doing incredibly American things, in
particular eating an over-sized bag of barbecue Lays, listening to Boston and
watching the Scripps National Spelling Bee, I excitedly anticipate a change of
pace. A change of culture. A change of my life (for the better). This blog will be
our connection to America. We, the couple of guys with the map, sincerely hope
you stay connected with us through this medium throughout all of our
travels/adventures.
